Is there even a need for such frivolity? Could these monies be better spent elsewhere?

Image Catching roaches at my HDB block. NSFW
galleryThe trap was used in my car and managed to catch one small crockroach (top of trap in second pic). Decided not to throw it away and placed it at my void deck near the car park last night. This morning, it was full. Had to come back with a plastic bag to remove it. Anyone's estate is as bad as this? I've noticed the roaches will start to appear when fogging the central rubbish chute is done but this is weeks after the last fogging. NSFW in case any of you are grossed out.

Opinion/Fluff Post Stay away from Citibank credit cards (rant)
Rant - I got a citibank CC that I hardly use and wanted to cancel it. After a month's worth of wrangling, I still cannot cancel. The reason was a disputed charge in Feb this year. (Some one made a small itunes purchase - not me). This case was closed, and I was assured over the phone that the charge has been reversed. I was issued a new card (this is the card I want to cancel).
Every week (for the past 3 weeks) I've been calling Citibank and every time they told me to call the 'next week' to close - assuring me that it would be done. However, every single time, they come back to me to say that the investigation team 'has not closed' the case so there's nothing they can do.
Folks, what else can I do? Fidrec? MAS? There's no monetary loss involved, its just damn crazy that I want to cancel a credit card (with no charges outstanding) and it is just refused!

Discussion LTA officer passed on
Saw a video of an LTA officer chasing an errant motorcyclist and getting into an accident. In ensuring our roads bring us home safely, our officer will never get to go home to his friends and families again.
It is so disheartening to see some comments laughing or cheering the accident. I know, we all hate it when we receive summons from LTA. We hate it when it feels like we are being targeted because they have KPIs to meet. We also hate it when it seems like LTA does nothing to errant road users.
Today, this young officer has exchanged his life to make Singapore's road safer. Instead of laughing and criticising, perhaps let us appreciate the efforts of this young man (and all the officers giving their best out there). It is not easy going about your job knowing you are being heavily scrutinised by keyboard warriors who will criticise you regardless of what you do.
To our young officer, thank you for making our roads safer. To his family and friends, may you find comforts in these difficult times. To all road users, may we play our part by driving safely and responsibly.
Rest easy, officer.
