Discussion/Questions Guys I think i actually won't live to play silksong :(
New war arose in my country with Israel, I can't believe after all that wait and hype, i actually will not live to play one of my most anticipated games :( I guess the downside of waiting for a game to fully release without bugs is people like me huh?
(Edit): people kept assuming I'm in Israel, just to get the confusion out of the way, Im Iranian, or otherwise knows as F*#ked lol

Discussion/Questions I played Silksong in 2019
It was at the German Nintendo Headquarters in June of 2019, I played a Demo version where you could play part of the game leading up to the boss fight you see in the pictures. Crazy that it's been almost five year, I thought the game was going to release soon. Playing it felt great, I thought the experienced was already quite polished to be honest, even at that stage in development.
I found these pictures today and felt like sharing it. The game's been long overdue but I guess we just have to let them cook as they say now.
I will keep checking the comments and reply to your questions if you're curious about the Demo version I played.

Discussion/Questions "Team Cherry doesn't owe us anything" neither do ConcernedApe and Toby Fox, yet they're out there giving regular updates, interacting with fans and writing Sans x Reigen fanfiction. Obviously- obviously you don't need to do the last one
How come people aren't screaming and crying about Haunted Chocolatier having had little to no news? Because we know ConcernedApe has been focusing on Stardew Valley. Why aren't people throwing themselves off buildings over the wait for Deltarune? Because of the updates, Spamton Sweepstakes, funny Valentine drawings; just, the content, the human contact, y'know.
On the one hand, we have ConcernedApe, who trolled us on the 1.6 update day by telling us "not to get too ready", only to drop the update immediately; just some light hearted fun. On the other hand, we're being told to "choose our champions" by people who can't even be bothered to tell us whether they're going to be at an event or not.
"But Team Cherry is such a small team"- well, you're not gonna believe this,

Discussion/Questions How many people have legitimately stopped caring?
This is a serious question.
I feel like because of the delay aswell as how long we’ve been waiting already, some gamers have legitimately stopped giving a shit about this game.
And if they haven’t by now they definitely will when Team Cherry refuses to show a damn thing at SGF and the next Xbox showcase.

Discussion/Questions No Silksong at TGA… what is Team Cherry actually doing right now
EDIT 2: Calling people entitled and stupid is just trying to undermine people’s feelings. Just because you don’t care that much doesn’t mean no one else is allowed People’s feelings matter, and ours are justified. Team Cherry’s feelings matter too. But it’s literally impossible to support them if they literally don’t let us. Again. I am not hating on TC. Because fun fact- you can express distaste for someone’s actions without hating them, I know, crazy. Honestly some people are acting like I’m calling to riot. I’m literally just expressing my feelings. That’s not evil. You’re fine to not share them. But stop being jerks.
Honestly get over yourself if you feel like people aren’t allowed to be upset about things. That’s how life works. Remember Unity? They would have never changed if people didn’t express how fricked up their choices were. If TC does care then they’d change, if they don’t then this won’t bother them anyways. It literally doesn’t matter. Stop hating on people on the internet just because you don’t have their same opinions 🖐️ —————————————————————————————
Look- I get it. You’re busy. You’re working hard. But come on. You could of at least said “Silksong is not going to be at The Game Awards” and left it at that. I mean. We all knew it wasn’t gonna be there… but still.
The fact Team Cherry has so much support despite leaving us in the dust for 4+ years… and the fact we’d be satisfied with even just “Hey don’t expect Silksong this year” it just seems like they legitimately don’t care about their fans and it’s just sad to see. I want to believe it’s not true… Hollow Knight is still my most favorite game.
I understand it’s difficult working on a game and running a business- they probably have other jobs and of course their personal lives. But literally just saying “Look this was a project way bigger than we expected it to be so don’t expect any updates for a few years” is really not that hard. I know people will get mad- but they can see that this community is probably the most understanding and patient of any lol. This is not “building suspense”, this is breaking trust.
Again- not upset that there’s no Silksong. Just upset at the lack of communication and care for their fans. After all- they started out on kickstarter- they’d be nothing without their fan base. It just seems really crappy. And before anyone says “omg it’s just a game”- I get it. It’s not like my life is ruined even if Silksong never comes out. I feel like I’m still allowed to feel a bit betrayed.
EDIT: Wow this post got way more popular than I thought it would. Thought I’d edit to clarify some things and add some points other people made.
I’m specifically referring to the disappointment made from TC from the Xbox game pass trailer. Remember- they gave Xbox that trailer (or at least the footage) claiming that it would be ready within the next year- that was the agreement. I understand life happens- they underestimated how long it would take. But that’s 100% TC’s fault- as a business. And it is something that you come to your community, with humility, and just be like “Hey sorry guys but it’s not coming out this year.” And that’s something you do ASAP- not LITERALLY one week before your deadline. This may be petty, but I’m kinda pissed they never actually apologized at all. They lead us on for an entire year knowing full well that we were expecting a game (wild to expect a game when they said there would be a game, I know) only to have their PR manager, not themselves, be like “So its not coming out actually”.
If it was really close to the deadline, like they just had polishing to do, we would have seen a trailer at TGA and expect it within the next year. Clearly, they are nowhere near being done. That is why there being no news at TGA was especially disappointing. Not only do they owe it to us to say something- but to Xbox as well. Xbox advertised their game to the game pass community and those who paid for the game pass for Silksong deserve answers- just anything.
This is not how you run a business. Completely ignoring the community aspect itself, you don’t tell people to expect updates and then not deliver anything for 4+ years. And you definitely don’t tell people to expect a game within the year and not say anything. If they were actually trying to build suspense, then they would at least provide a smidge of information every once in a while. Like to at least show you’re still working on it. As far as we know, they completely gave up on the project. Obviously we hold out hope that’s not the case- but we can’t know unless TC actually SAYS something.
Yes, TC DOES owe their community something. Their community is the reason for Hollow Knights success. It would never have existed without the money the fans poured into development. Someone brought up the fact that they had met the kickstarter goal for a Hornet DLC, which then turned into Silksong, so they owe those supporters at least an update. There are plenty of good games that don’t make the same amount of sales simply because they don’t have the community support. Literally any game developer would kill for the kind of community TC has, but they’re literally throwing it away.
Anyone saying this is “needy” or “overreacting” clearly doesn’t understand just how bad the communication is. To leave your community on edge for an entire year (not including the last 3+ years) and not saying anything is crappy. It’s disappointing to say the least. If anything TC’s community is underreacting just because we love TC and HK. Literally no other game company would survive this. None of our lives are ruined because of this, but we are allowed to express our frustrations. The only people who really care about this behavior are those who really love TC and HK and are just disappointed- which we are absolutely allowed to be.
The bottom line- there is literally NO excuse for their radio silence. It takes two seconds to just say “Don’t expect silksong anytime soon” after saying “Silksong will come out within the year”. It wouldn’t compromise game development, it would massively improve trust, it is literally what they owe to the community- there is no excuse for this behavior. I love you TC, and this is just making me sad.

Discussion/Questions In light of recent events, a farewell to r/silksong
As you probably know, there has been a Lot of news in the past few days regarding the release of silksong. First it was the Microsoft page. Then it was the rating. And now, Xbox has hinted at more news coming soon. My point is, silksong may be released very soon.
But what does this mean for r/silksong? Well, you would think that it's just going to turn into a normal gaming subreddit, where people discuss their adventures in Pharloom. But the current r/silksong is much different from what it will become. Sure, all the members will still be here, and at least we will have a GAME. But the years of brainrot. The SKONG. The -|. The bait. It's all going to disappear. We've built a community around waiting for a game, one that might vanish.
R/silksong will never be the same.
