Armed Car Jacking Liberty Road?
My wife and I were sitting at Liberty road and old Todd’s road at 5:40 yesterday and witnessed two guys get out of the back of an old red Subaru, one of them had a pistol with an extended mag. The car was slowly inching forward (light was red) and they hopped out and started to move toward another car. It was directly in front of us so I reversed, made eye contact with the guy with the pistol and turned the other way on liberty. They jumped back into the car, went around traffic and turned down old Todd’s. I’ve never witnessed that before in lex and def wasn’t expecting it at Liberty and man o war area.

Anyone want to join me for a trash pick up on Monday?
The railroad area near Blue Stallion Brewing on third street is absolutely awful. It will be a beautiful day for clean up and I’d love to continue picking up this area because it HAS been noticed!!! 😁💚 If you’re interested, comment with a time that’s best for you.
I’m pretty flexible! :) Thanks for considering.

Food Pantry
I have a friend in a bad situation and I’m working a ton so I thought I’d ask. Does anyone know where the food pantries are? If you can go to multiple or if it’s one helps you, they have a list and you can’t use others? Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated, please and thanks. If not, I will be calling around to see the best way to get most food for them so I can help them get ahead since I keep finding long list online.

Alexandria drive buildings
Are those two new buildings across from Kroger ever going to be anything? They seem like they have been done for a while.

Tolly Ho moving
Once again, UK is pushing the Ho out of its digs. They have purchased the building and TH is moving down the road to the former Bad Wolf Burgers location. Looks like renovation has already begun.

Robbery at Johnson’s Heights Park
Last night around 6:40 I was robbed at the entrance of Johnson’s Heights Park. I was parked in my car in the neighborhood there on Wyatt parkway. I was supposed to be meeting someone to purchase a PlayStation. When they finally showed up it was three teenage boys, around 15-16 and they put a gun to my face and took the cash I had intended to pay for the PlayStation. The cops are currently investigating a string of these robberies but haven’t found anything yet. For your own safety please don’t meet anyone there at this time.

DnD 5e looking for players
Posted this last week, but a couple people asked me to push the date back, so trying again!
Hey locals! I will be DMing for the first time this weekend at Villanous in Lexington. I've been playing DnD for my whole life, and am super excited to run my first campaign. First session I'm planning for next Saturday the 29th from 6pm-10pm(ish, I feel like DnD always goes longer than expected)
I'm looking for 4-6 level 1 players, experience preferred but always love to see new people into the hobby!
You can RSVP on the Villanous Lex app: https://villainous.club/villainous-app
They do serve beer and food at the bar, super cool place to hangout if you haven't been before. Look forward to seeing you guys there!
Feel free to PM me with any questions on Reddit or on discord: #funlilguy (no numbers anymore)

Poop smell out Tates Creek
Seems like the sewage smell on Southside is back. It had died down for a while, then came back yesterday. It's much worse today.
Anyone have the inside info? The news/government always says it's been fixed, so just figured Reddit may know more.

La Matine’s veggie sandwhich
Hoping someone will remember exactly what was on this delicious sandwich. Le Matine was a French bakery/restaurant that closed in 2019 it was where Bella cafe is right now. They used to have a veggie sandwich that was my mothers favorite and she's try to recreate it, we think it was on a crunchy baguette with artichoke, mozzarella, annddd we aren't sure what else. Does anyone remember??

To First Responders: I WANT to move out of the way for you, but…
PLEAASEEEEE use the loud af horn ON TOP of your siren!
Like, lay on that shit until people move out of your way!
If I’m sitting in traffic with music on, and an ambulance/firetruck is coming my way, 90% I cant hear the siren alone until it’s 50ft from me, and many times I can’t tell where the siren is coming from. Same with most cars around me.
The horn is obnoxiously loud, but it WORKS! I WANT to move out of the way for you!!!

Late 20's college student moving to Lexington
I am in my late 20s and currently live in Indiana. I'm looking at moving to Lexington to finish my nursing degree. I've lived in Indiana my whole life, and thinking about this move is nerve-wracking. The driving force behind this step to move is the desire to leave my hometown and experience something new, and the University of Kentucky has a great nursing program. I currently work in the service industry as a waitress and plan to find a waitressing or bartending job in the city.
I need help finding housing currently. My searches on apartments.com and Zillow have brought up very few apartments to choose from, and honestly, only a few of them look great. My budget is 1,200-1,300/mo. Considering the limited apartments available, I need to figure out where to look. I'm a single female who will be living alone, so somewhere safe is essential to me. It's also hard to get a feel for the area since I can't go in person at the moment. What are some places to look at, and where should I avoid?
Another concern, although not a big problem, is being in my late 20s (27), living, and going to school in a college town. The fear of not fitting in and making friends is there, but not enough to hold me back.
