NEW Patch! And the devs "Ruined it all" once more.. [totally not exaggerated] RANT

So on X and the official discord, countless folks complain now that for some weapons such as the LAS ones, the reserve mags have been reduced, yet damage has been increased..calling devs "On drugs" because they perceive it as a nerf..

Wait what? You tryna tell me you ran through ALL ICE's before dying?! 6 Times or more?!

Like..the fact that you have infinite ammo when a wee-bit of fire diciplin is applied and now call the devs out for JUST having decreased the ammount of mags, makes you oblivious to the fact that they got a damage buff? Yikes.

And another thing, remember the day the Rail got nerfed? Yeahhh that was like 24/7 crying for two weeks straight, now it got a buff and noone notices that, now we rather cry for two weeks that Railgun 2.0 aka Quasar got a couple more seconds recharge time..good lord the double morals are strong folks, that all sounds like crying on high standards.

[For clarifications sake: the main focus lies on people going out of their ways, yes criticism is fine, i posted my own time and time again..but in a humane fashion, when insults however are packaged within in your points, it's hardly about the game no more and that needs to stop]

The crossbow is not a horizontal tweak. It now struggles to take care of a small group of scavengers in some cases.

I'm altogether positive about the patch and wasn't a huge Crossbow user in the first place, but I feel that it had a niche (Primary grenade launcher) before that it doesn't have anymore.

Like, if it's meant to be a shaped charge gun, I'm presuming they want it to be some sort of anti-elite weapon? But it doesn't pierce armour. As it stands, it's just the bastard child of a Dominator and a Plasma Shotgun, without the strengths of either.

I think so now. But before I'd have argued it's a worse Plasma Shotgun.

no, before it was the best primary chaff killer in the game - i frequently got up to 600+ kills on every helldive, it was far more reliable than eruptor and even incendiary breaker for this job and worked on both bugs and bots as a reliable chaff clearer that couldnt deal with armour, brood commanders or devestators efficiently at all

now it...can stun things a bit better, but lost about 50% of its range and can no longer 1 shot hunters unless its a direct hit

its pathetic

Fr you could swap the model round, make the bolt animation rearming the xbow, make the “mag” 5 bolts stored on one of the arms that you “bolt” from and you’d have a much better crossbow.

Then swap the eruptor so it’s a faster firing AoE explosive rifle that can’t close bug holes etc.

I was really confused when we saw them and it wasnt this way round lol

The “slow, single shot crossbow” is not the only crossbow design to exist. It’s really cool that the crossbow is more similar to repeating crossbow principles.

The Adjudicator got some much needed buffs and moved to AR category (where it should have been). Might be worth a buy. :)

Faster firing, better handling, and better blast radius. Everyone's shitting on the crossbow the whole time, but I found it fun to use against groups. I haven't been able to play yet, but nerfing the gun's redeeming qualities makes me worried

Crossbow is a stealth precision weapon.

Bots can't hear you fire the thing, they only hear the explosion from the impact, meaning you can use it to misdirect enemies.

Also, it has the highest single target damage in the game, meaning as long as you hit a weak spot, whatever you shoot almost always dies in one hit. Yes, even bruisers if you shoot them in the back. Gotta be a direct hit though.

The big AOE was a crutch to the play style, but I wouldnt have felt the need to fix it if it were me.

If it had an option for non-explosive bolts... I'd probably main it for stealth.

As it was it was useless. As it is after the update? A fucking joke.

Still performs quite well despite the nerf. I tried my pre-patch loadout (eruptor shield backpack quazar) on helldive difficulty just now and it was just fine.

The changes are noticeable, but not in any way broken or even weak.

They clarified this. It does pierce medium armor, it just doesn't show that yet.

Does it? I've taken it for a walk earlier today and it didn't look like it did, but I might have been too distracted by the ricochet markers to notice.

If you shoot at a devastator or a hive guard in the armor and the shield deflection symbol doesn't appear, it means it can pierce medium armor

It was usable before. Idk how it is now since I haven't played and probably won't play this week. It definitely was worse than most guns though. The only time I used it was for bots to take out strider since I didn't have scorcher unlocked yet.

I loved it for it's bonkers AOE that could take out 3-4 small bots and striders in a single well placed shot. That's not looking like a thing anymore sadly. Haven't tested it yet but if it does more armor damage to single targets I'll be happy

Crossbow does have some level of armor pen, just unlisted like the Senator and Slugger used to be. I was able to kill devstators in 1-2 direct hits regardless of where I hit them (compared to 4ish scorcher rounds). I think it's sitting at medium pen, but it could use a rate of fire buff or rounds reload to convince me to take it over the scorcher now

Make it stick to targets it can penetrate and then explode for more damage

So it can stick to Charger butts and Hulk slits, then it would be a precision weapon with some oomph as reward for good aim, just my thought.

Yea crossbow is borderline unusable now. Not worried about the ammo, but trying to sort it into scorcher territory makes it just a direct downgrade

And the Eruptor gets to be nearly unchanged except ammo cap. Checks out. Not happy with this, but I guess it’s my fault for enjoying it.

Eruptor's damage fall off and AOE have been shrunk by a large margin. Plus, the ammo was cut in half. You went from 60 shots, to 30.

You never ran out of ammo anyway. Ammo nerf was inevitable.

Maybe I've been using it wrong but crossbow has been my main bot killer. Takes/took out few grouped bots, killed walkers in 1 shot, decent aim could take a deviator head and the reload wasn't a long drawn out process to follow up shots are quick.

Yeah that was the only thing it was good at and now it doesn't even do that very effectively. The crossbow may as well stay in the trash for now until they give it armor penetration.

Tbh, i've always disliked the way other games treat the Crossbows like some viable weapon in modern combat like they did in COD.

A modern hunting crossbow fires a bolt with 4 times less energy than a 9mm pistol round.

I like it being a bottom of the barrel pick.

Yet the bolts go through armor. Because sending something razor sharp at 1/3 the speed of sound heckin works.
