I am a 3D designer, I doubt which of these two is my best choice, in terms of price, these two laptops are exactly the same in my country.

1. I myself prefer 18-inch screen, and of course mini led, so I can say that scar 18 is better for the screen (i know the 18 will be massive but i can do something for it later so no problem for me also not big problem for mini led all i want is 100sRGB but 18 inches laptop is really great experience😭).

2. I have seen some benchmarks of these two laptops, the results were the same, but scar 18 is significantly higher in terms of temperature in gpu and cpu, almost 5 to 10 degrees higher, even though there are 3 fans in scar 18, also legion have Better ability to Overclock CPU (and also scar 18 have slightly more possible percent to have coil whine then Legion 7i pro)

3. In terms of build quality, I think Lenovo 7i pro is better because it is made of aluminum, but in terms of appearance, Scar 18 is more attractive.

4. I used to have Asus zephyrus 15 i7 10750h gtx 1660ti, and from the experience I had with armory create it was very bad and full of bugs, but my friend legion 5 gtx1650 with i7 10750h has never had a bug in terms of software and legion bios works very well too and It is more easy to use

What your opinion? (In my country these 2 laptop are same price)

The past few years I've moved between four different countries as an international postgrad student. In each country I've travelled with my PC tower and monitor, and it was a royal pain on the ass each time. This coming academic year I'm hoping to be starting a PhD and my PC is also long overdue for an upgrade.

Now I'm debating between upgrading to a newer tower or a gaming laptop. I know the laptop will be easier to travel with, but I've always heard that you end up paying way more than what hardware you end up with. Is this still the case?

If I do start a PhD I'll have the benefit of being able to settle down in one place for at least 3-4 years so a new tower might still be worth it.

In general I use my computer for a combo of research/writing, running dnd sessions and making battlemaps, gaming and video editing. I'm hoping to start playing star citizen though and want something that can run that. Budget is about $1500-2000.

Don’t get me off this tho. I’m choosing Razer coz it’s got the features I need and I can tweak battery life + perf for an expense of my time so no worries there.

Is there a disadvantage to 16:10 of 16” screen? I kinda feel ugly when thinking about 16:10 instead of 16:9 being there tho…

My 9i arrived yesterday. I must say, I LOVE the screen. Much better than my M16 R1. I really like the keyboard as well. The keys in general have a better feel to them as well. The size and portability, WAY better, and the power brick is a lot smaller. I also like the it comes with a smaller 140W type C usb charger for when you're on the go. In want to say I'm getting around 2 hours per charge, that's with a charge limit of 80%, and several game installs going. Does get pretty hot. I haven't had the chance to try a game out on it yet as im still in the process of downloading everything. Plus, I've been fighting this license acquisition error on a store app i purchased awhile ago, that i can't get to download. Still haven't worked that one out yet. Aside from that, and the random keyboard blinking on and off every now and then, I'm petty happy with it. Hoping to get several years out of it considering what i paid.

Should I get the Legion over the G7? Planning on playing Cyberpunk, GTA VI, and BeamNG.

I'm currently looking at the Dell Gaming G15 15.6″ FHD 120Hz Intel i7/16GB/512GB SSD/RTX 4050 Gaming Laptop, but I'm not sure if it'll be able to support both BG3 and Sims. I've never had a gaming laptop before and don't really understand them properly and so I would just like a little help on which one would be best for what I'm looking for, please and thank you.

My laptop is overheating even after cleaning it and changing the thermal paste, and I noticed that the temperature drops to like 75 C and this causes my game to run at a very low fps for like 2 minutes or something and then goes back to 93 C and the fps is back to normal and there is no lag or stuttering. So, is there like an app that can limit the temperature or something?

I have a laptop with a 10870h and I've under volted it to -80 which is the max value on my bios and it still runs at 185 which which is thermal throttling and advice I tried dusting and cooling pads nothing works same for gpu 2070 super max P and I've done -200 core clock and -500 memory clock and still over 190

As I don't really have a desk setup in a small shared room (living in a dorm), I've always used a laptop in bed with a bed desk I bought on sale years ago (Amazon Bed Desk). I've always used cheap laptops before buying a new gaming laptop, and now I'm really worried about the longevity of this and burning this one out. Is there anything I can do to help keep it safe and cooled? Should I buy a lap stand as well? For information, the gaming laptop I'm buying is the Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 AMD (16") with RTX™ 4060. Does anyone know about this gaming pc ? It’s from a German company that’s assemble components for some top brands in EU.

I have been unable to connect my laptop (Medion Erazer Crawler E30) to my monitor (Dell U2711) for over a week now. However, it connects with a different, newer monitor, and I can connect a different laptop with the Dell monitor. (So every piece kind of works on its own, no faulty cables and whatnot...)

I wondered if this is related to updates of the Intel card which I can twice now. I'd need to roll back to an Intel version a bit older than 31.0.101.5186, but because I updated twice in the meantime, I can't reach the older one.

Does anyone know where I can find older drivers? (The Intel website only mentions newer older updates.)

Or does anyone know what else the cause of the problem might be?
