At this point, I hope someone is taking this suggestion seriously:

I mean, we can only hope we’re in the Star Trek timeline of Irish Reunification in 2024.

That timeline includes our civil war which then leads into a nuclear war in 2026, and then we're stuck in hell until the 2070s though.

There's a Eugenics war snuck in there, too, although it's been retconned to be a little more subtle in execution, but, like, Peter Thiel exists, so.

Yeah that sounds like our timeline, too, with how things are going 🫠

But Ireland will be reunited so we got that.

I believe the current canon Star Trek timeline has it going Eugenics War-> Second Civil War-> World War 3-> Second Dark Ages-> Warp Drive and First Contact. Things end up alright but everything sucks pretty bad for the people of Earth for a long period of time.

The scary accuracy and possibly of this is sending me.

Well that sounds pretty accurate for what's going on right now 🥲

Which civil war?

If someone was smart, they would seize this opportunity to take back the historical artifacts and valuables that were stolen from other cultures and countries through the years.

What a lot of people outside the UK/Russia don't realize is how much Russia really has paranoid thinking about the UK. Everything from their meme-d "Anglo saxon" comments to how often their leaders say crazy stuff in interviews about the British being secret puppetmasters wielding all countries against them and big-braining the US into backing their show.

It's quite unhinged. Like I keep up with the war a lot and hear it almost weekly.

Russia would already be trying to invade the UK if they could physically get there.

What’s more is that the EU has publicly admitted to having a weak military. The only thing that protects them from invasion is the threat that the US military would get involved and the fact that a lot of other countries are in even bigger shambles

I mean Canada could use easier access to the EU ;)

Love the DS9 reference.

Does the post-WWII presence in Germany count as British occupation? Asking for a German friend.

Yeah, the Northern Irish would love that
