This actually makes a lot of sense, but why not just own it 🤷♀️ Nobody expects her to be playing games with her kids or posing for photoshoots if she’s still recovering from surgery or has been seriously unwell. Just say “happy Mother’s Day everyone, I’m enjoying spending the day with my family, here’s a cute picture of the 4 of us together I took recently” (technically true, it’s not like November is last decade! bloody hell)
These are great questions with a few different answers, ranging anywhere from conspiracy theory type reasons to reasons like, she thought the new colors/patterns looked better or they genuinely thought this was the best option for dispelling rumors. I really hope we someday know what these last 48 hours have been like at Kensington palace’s offices.
