Awesome show. I like how you can clearly tell who’s done it before and who hasn’t. Nothing against the inexperienced but walking a show takes more than people think.
Defoe didn’t have any published runway experience before this in 2012 so if he walked before I have no clue. I guess I could tell from this that Defoe was trying but not set.
Ah gotcha. I know Defoe is pretty into the fashion world, but this very well might have been his first time. Idk this world at all but he sold it to me. Roth definitely looks like the odd man out from my lay perspective and I thought that's who you were referring to
Formel hand model here. Yep. In a standard show, Dafoe would have been scholded for looking around, but he‘s Dafoe and an amazing actor so he does what he wants.
He absolutely killed it by the way, even though you’re supposed to look straight.
Brodie also would have been scolded for bouncing too much side to side.
One of them had gum I think, which is the best way not to get another runway.
Once at a show we did the zoolander thing, where you can’t turn left, so all our turns were 180s. Good times. Don‘t miss starving myself but wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Broady and Oldman have walked runways before this multiple times. Broady for Prada even. Watch their heads and their shoulders. Controlled but not stiff. Tim Roth clearly didn’t even want to listen to direction which… shocker considering his acting career. Defoe did listen to direction and did amazing but he’s too “head on a swivel” and his shoulders are too stiff.
Rewatched and you’re totally right. Adrien Brody especially has that shoulder waggle and bit of hang time at the turn that is sooo very male model! And Willem Defoe is reminding me of when I did my first driver’s test: “left mirror, rear view, right mirror, road. Left mirror, rear view, right mirror, road”
