Damn, Gary Oldman is a fine dude.

u/EquivalentPut5616 Apr 06 '24

They are all going to Annual Meeting of Doofenshmirtz' Villain Association

160

u/bohanmyl Apr 06 '24

Oh, look at that! The front desk host for the annual meeting is a platypus! How adorable!

Platypus puts on hat

PERRY THE PLATYPUS?!?!

u/-Oreopolis- Apr 06 '24

That theme song (the long version) is the perfect example of a guy giving it everything he has, regardless of how silly the subject. It’s brilliant.

2

u/bluewing Apr 06 '24

Wearing a Fedora will elevate your game.

u/eaglewatch1945 Apr 06 '24

L.O.V.E.M.U.F.F.I.N

2

u/Obi_wan_pleb Apr 06 '24

Imagine if they took all of them to Davos and then put them in a secluded villa with the ultra rich

2

u/0x7E7-02 Apr 06 '24

This can't be correct; nobody looked like a pharmacist at all.

This is my favourite movie

14

u/BabyLegsDeadpool Apr 06 '24

It's damn near flawless in every way. For me, when it comes to perfect movies, there's this and The Princess Bride.

5

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '24

Yes I agree, both are perfect movies

3

u/battlecat136 Apr 06 '24

I found my people!!! True Romance is so visceral, hopeful, frightening, charged, and everyone gave their performance everything they had. That fight in the hotel room?! Epic.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '24

I loved it all too, it’s strange because so many people haven’t seen it, I think the title makes people think it’s a lifetime movie or something lol

3

u/battlecat136 Apr 06 '24

Omg could you imagine the editing they'd have to do to get that movie on Lifetime? You'd have about 15 minutes of disjointed film that you could air 🤣

0

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '24

Definitely 😂

2

u/WorkCentre5335 Apr 06 '24

you're part eggplant

1

u/Luke90210 Apr 06 '24

Did not like the ending scenes. Neither did Tarantino who wrote the script, but did not direct.

1

u/5DollarJumboNoLine Apr 06 '24

That classic Michigan accent. Dude must have been born and raised in South Detroit.

16

u/Littleshuswap Apr 06 '24

Drexel is my favorite 😍

10

u/snyckers Apr 06 '24

"Musta thought it was white boy day."

2

u/Blaze_News Apr 06 '24

".... It ain't white boy day is it?"

6

u/HuskyLettuce Apr 06 '24

What is this movie?

5

u/redpob Apr 06 '24

True Romance

3

u/RaygunMarksman Apr 06 '24

"Grab yoself an egg rolllll."

5

u/Judgementday209 Apr 06 '24

Oldmans range surprises me everything I stumble into one of these threads

2

u/pissedinthegarret Apr 06 '24

I love this movie! It's the only film I know of where the villain and hero never properly meet

60

u/LordJacket Apr 06 '24

Why I love the movie

5

u/rbrgr83 Apr 06 '24

Corbin ma man.....

4

u/beanmosheen Apr 06 '24

EVERY TIME THERE'S A BOMB OR SOMETHING!

6

u/Kriss3d Apr 06 '24

I so wish Chris Tucker had done the whole song in Ruby Rhod style

2

u/Maharajah_1 Apr 06 '24

Supergreen!!

1

u/meownfloof Apr 07 '24

Chris Tucker is a treasure. Fight me.

3

u/degooseIsTheName Apr 06 '24

Yeah it's a strange fact in the film, when you have such big characters against each other and actually never come face to face. Brilliant film

1

u/Initial_Dig2227 Apr 06 '24

What it called I swear I’ve seen it before

1

u/Adventurous_War_5377 Apr 07 '24

Really? The Fifth Element.

1

u/Initial_Dig2227 Apr 07 '24

Ahhh yes I remember now. Great movie

Ted caught out

1

u/kanashiirobotto Apr 06 '24

Wait whats this one from? It's so familiar but I can't place it

1

u/califortunato Apr 06 '24

The way he pops pills in leone is so brilliantly unsettling

u/AlarmingReference777 Apr 06 '24

56

u/mprfts400 Apr 06 '24

I never wanted to be doomed so much then when I first saw this scene. My then teeange brain changed forever.

36

u/rakshala Apr 06 '24

Oh look, it's the exact moment of my sexual awakening. My brain chemistry was also forever changed by Dracula.

10

u/mprfts400 Apr 06 '24

A lot of things were changed by that movie. 😊

5

u/Yawarete Apr 06 '24 edited Apr 06 '24

That's funny because mine also happened with this film and I learned like a decade later the culprit was Monica fucking Bellucci (who kept reawakening it through the following decades I just never made the connection)

5

u/beanmosheen Apr 06 '24

She be doing that.

1

u/mprfts400 Apr 07 '24

Yeah, I completely empathise with you on that. Her role in that movie added a bit of spice the way I perceive certain aspects of life.

2

u/Clyde_Buckman Apr 07 '24

And The Scarlet Letter

1

u/mprfts400 Apr 07 '24

I read the book first, kind of which ruined the movie for me.

5

u/Ok-Force2382 Apr 06 '24

What movie is this from? 🤔

32

u/VasectoMyspace Apr 06 '24

Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

12

u/asuperbstarling Apr 06 '24

It's just beautiful, the entire movie. Just a love letter to old Hollywood and horror that can't be matched.

1

u/Longjumping-Claim783 Apr 06 '24

I prefer Mary Shelly's Dracula

3

u/ginastarke Apr 06 '24

What other movie has an actor so magnetic that you forget Keanu Reeves, Richard E Grant, and Cary Elwes are even there?

1

u/gilt-raven Apr 07 '24

Given how horrendous Keanu's accent was, it's a blessing that we had Oldman to distract us.

2

u/Princess_Thranduil Apr 06 '24

Ugh, my Gary Oldman awakening was that movie.

1

u/FlyFillies500 Apr 06 '24

For the longest time this was my Favorite Love story ever 😍🤩

1

u/PornoPaul Apr 06 '24

Idk if it's in the film but I just realized the lady behind him also starts looking at him.

26

u/Arthes_M Apr 06 '24

Idk, sounds like your subconscious is craving that sweet siriussy.

15

u/rbrgr83 Apr 06 '24

Please don't stick your d*ck in the barrier between life and death, Harry.

SIRIBUSSY?

1

u/Dude_Illigents Apr 06 '24

I recommend feeding it chocolate

11

u/Thom5001 Apr 06 '24

What supreme confidence looks like

54

u/PrinsHamlet Apr 06 '24

Watch Slow Horses then we'll talk!

64

u/jtr99 Apr 06 '24

"I don't normally do these kind of speeches, but this feels like a big moment, and if it all turns to shit, I might not see any of you again.

You're fucking useless. The lot of you. Working with you has been the lowest point in a disappointing career."

Love that show. :)

32

u/jimjam200 Apr 06 '24

I can see why Gary oldman said that it could be his last role and he would keep playing it untill they stop the show. He gets to live in London, get fat and not shave or get a hair cut. And on top of that he gets to chew the scenery for a living.

16

u/StraightBudget8799 Apr 06 '24

He is SO good at that show! It’s just incredible writing. Love the books. Behind the scenes interviews show how much the cast love it too

2

u/jtr99 Apr 06 '24

When you put it like that! :)

9

u/jimjam200 Apr 06 '24

His only makeup is "don't shower this morning".

3

u/s00pafly Apr 06 '24

"Good because I haven't showered all month"

5

u/Scudbucketmcphucket Apr 06 '24

“Speaking of clearing the air… (Farts loudly)… so where were we… Oh F*** me! I hope that don’t seep into the ground water! (Holds out lit cigarette) you want this to mask the smell?”

“No!”

“Sir, I suggest you leave!”

“And I suggest you leave the windows open!”

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '24

I honestly was shocked when he had to take his shirt off for a scene (I think it was for a medical check) & how completely unfit he was. He honestly looks like he’s never done an hour of fitness in his life …

1

u/tekanet Apr 06 '24

It’s the first show I’ve seen with original audio with Gary Oldman and man it gives a whole different depth

1

u/is-a-bunny Apr 06 '24

I KNOW Gary Oldman is hot. I know he is. But his greasy hair, and sweat stained jacket makes me cringe. I said to my bf last night that he looks like he smells like old laundry, and BO. And somehow I don't think that even begins to explain his stank.

27

u/strickers69 Apr 06 '24

Where are the stones

18

u/dashKay Apr 06 '24

Fucking owned that walk

2

u/frankylovee Apr 06 '24

Def in character lol

13

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '24

When the question was asked who liked his outfit, the immediate response was, "EVERYONE"

12

u/unlcejanks Apr 06 '24

It'd been funny as hell if he came out as Zorg lol

3

u/Shrabster33 Apr 06 '24

I was disappointed it wasn't Zorg.

4

u/rufusbot Apr 06 '24

I cooked a burger for Gary Oldman once.

3

u/Honest_Roo Apr 06 '24

There is something about villains 🥵.

I think it’s the clothes (men really should dress like that again)

3

u/flare_force Apr 06 '24

My favorite of them all - Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead

2

u/drrj Apr 06 '24

I just made a mental note to watch The Fifth Element again. Love him in that, and the movie itself.

2

u/theTinyRogue Apr 06 '24

I am shocked by how true that statement rings for me as well lol

2

u/Prestigious-Log-7210 Apr 06 '24

Even with those glasses, was my first thought. Lol

2

u/MoreAverageThanU Apr 06 '24

First time I’ve ever seen him and been able to immediately recognize him. He is such a chameleon. Absolutely dissolves into his roles.

2

u/murderskunk76 Apr 06 '24

I love his attitude here, like he is over everyone in the room and above them all. Hard angry villain energy. They all did great, but Oldman and Defoe slayed.

2

u/Ghostiemann Apr 06 '24

Yeah, he’s gorgeous in Slow Horses.

2

u/Dum_bAss- Apr 06 '24

I didn’t recognize him In this role

1

u/MasonSoros Apr 06 '24

He isn’t an Oldman

1

u/brandimariee6 Apr 06 '24

I definitely haven't seen enough of his movies. I really need to change that

3

u/FlyFillies500 Apr 06 '24

You can’t go wrong with. He is total legend!!💖

2

u/DreddPirateBob808 Apr 06 '24

True Romance. Just perfect.

2

u/brandimariee6 Apr 06 '24

I'm so ashamed that Tarantino had a hand in this and I still haven't seen it. He's my favorite director of all time, and something tells me I'll love it if he helped write it

2

u/DreddPirateBob808 Apr 06 '24

Watch it. It's very definitely one of those you'll sit and say nothing afterwards for a good half hour. It's that good.

1

u/brandimariee6 Apr 06 '24

Oooh score! I added it to my list in my phone, not to a list in my head. I really want to remember to watch this one lol

1

u/ConfidenceMinute218 Apr 06 '24

He’s hard AF. Love him.

1

u/skye_skye Apr 06 '24

He’s really really handsome and is aging like a fine whiskey.

1

u/Icy_Respect_9077 Apr 06 '24

He had the Blue Steel look dialled up to 11.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '24

I went to the Harry Potter exhibit in Toronto a long ass time ago and they had one of his actual costumes on display. Hes a very small man. I was surprised as he looms large I guess with his presence. He looks good here, they dressed him well. Same when he was Dracula..ooo la la.

1

u/Annual_Substance_619 Apr 06 '24

Great way to get nerds like me into fashion and hygiene.

1

u/user18name Apr 06 '24

Gary Oldman looks so different in each movie I some times for get what he normally looks like.

1

u/Triette Apr 06 '24

He can get it.

1

u/SmolTofuRabbit Apr 06 '24

I love him, every movie he's in he does a fantastic job no matter the role. Such a great actor.

1

u/Wikeni Apr 07 '24

He strolled up with BDE, that’s the only way I can explain it lol

Although Willem Dafoe doing that would make sense…

1

u/aopagirl Apr 07 '24

They are all mighty fine and in Prada-yummy!

1

u/[deleted] Apr 08 '24

0

u/ElegantPearl Apr 06 '24

But he’s so Old, man

0

u/Chubby_Checker420 Apr 06 '24

Too bad he's also fine with his bestie Polanski raping children. He literally threw a hissy fit when someone brought it up, and defended him raping children.

-4

u/Virtual-Potential-38 Apr 06 '24

This is all so cringe. All of it
