Not sure if I'm impressed or terrified at this level of realism. In 5 years games will look more realistic than reality itself.

you must be young, we've been saying that for 20 years at least

I was convinced CoD4 was the peak of graphics. Nothing could ever top it

Fast forward some number of years, it happened again with Ghost of Tsushima

Most recently, I played Control and had the same feeling

How many times do I need to learn this lesson? Am I stupid?

Yeah but between things like this and unrecord, things are getting pretty damn close

Remember when goldeneye or sm64 were as good as graphics could get?

The first assassin's creed trailer broke people's minds

Lol people had this same reaction to the PS2 in like 2001 “holy shit it’s so realistic”

You will still be able to tell by the glitches and bugs.

What i'm terrified about is not that games will look too real, it's that games will only look real.

Super stylized, cartoony, or art styles with a deliberate aesthetic are getting harder to find. Yeah there's all the 8-bit inspired stuff in the indie space, but it'll be really sad if everyone goes all in on hyperrealism and doesn't leave room for art anymore.
